IQ Tour - Liz Johnson

I think at the 2017 PWBA US Women's Open, we seen just how great the IQ Tour Solid is at getting..9.. I felt like I was watching myself bowl league with it when the 7 or 10 pin was still standing.

She struggled on the Orlando open show. IQ Tour went too long, she switched to the Code Red which still didn't start up soon enough. To me it was the perfect spot with the Dare Devil Trick for her, she needed more cover.

Danielle threw the Trick in the match right after which looked much better

Liz uses it a lot, and yeah it's really good at getting 9.  Sometimes that's good, most of the time that's bad.  If the diff on that thing was .035 or something, it would still achieve the desired effect but maybe kick enough more on the backend to get them all down.

Finally a thread about the IQ tour being a great nine count ball.  I'll admit I have never used one but from watching others, it does have a really solid, consistent reaction but the carry power is definitely lacking.

Lol it's no secret . . we go round and round on the site here about it.  Yeah 9 instead of X sucks, but 9 is way better than 6.  That's why the ball is still around.  Completely average in every way, but the most consistent ball on the market.

9/ isn't always a bad frame.  It's all relative to the conditions.

IQ Tour X inbound! Same control predictability as the original, but handles the oil better and hits harder!

Of course the goal is to get as many strikes as you possibly can, HOWEVER, it isn't always realistic regardless of the bowler, their style, the condition, the ball their using, or at what surface.  One of the reasons I'll forever be happy with purchasing the whole !Q line (Except the 30).

The main goal is to be CONSISTENT at the end of the day, It's still 2 balls to knock down 10 pins. I'll take the !Q's any day of the week; I don't care what anybody thought thinks or says; You KNOW what your going to get consistently; Can that be said about All others? Don't think so. Just my .002 cents.

Also we can also look at it a different way; The hyroad also goes too long and doesn't handle a ton of oil, BUT the way it's designed it that it's motion on the back gets the job done on majority of conditions, meaning it's all relative to the !Q.

Very consistent motion on the back, while maintaining a predictable and consistent motion (with decent continuation, albeit it carries the world circles around the !Q)

The IQ Tour Solid has been the most important ball in my bag this summer on USBC White #2 and WTBA sport patterns. I have not been leaving many solid single pin leaves. Carry has been great.

However, it's does not get much use on house where it does not carry as well as other pieces.  Like every ball, it has its time and place.

Re Liz Johnson - it was clear the shot was hard and she was looking for as much control as possible. 9/ was not a undesirable result on that condition.

Every ball does have its place, You still however have to have balls reguardless of condition that will be very consistent; I do agree about carry that you don't however want to pull your hair out with 9 the majority of the time either.  ;D

Well finally did the unthinkable myself this afternoon and pulled the trigger on a Hy-Road (first Storm ball in a decade).  My PSO told me they are winding production down on them and distributor he orders from only had 20 15lbers left.  Double glad grabbed one if that is the case.  Pretty sure going to pass on the IQ solid though (and every other Storm ball as closet full now).  Got too many smooth pieces as it is.

Finally? Luke and I have been screaming from the roof tops this is the best "get 9" ball in history. Meanwhile, the masses keep beating off to it.
