I was thinking the same thing. Way too sharp of a movement. Is the pin placement you said you would use controllable with yet a still strong back end movement? I'm not very knowledgeable with drilling but I'm trying to learn so I can communicate what I want better with my driller.

+1 with JMac. On top of that I think Tony was just trying to make the ball look good by touching all 39 on a friction filled pattern. The solid version is smoother, whereas the pearl, im assuming, will give you the ability to pick up where the solid leaves off.

This piece is ULTRA sideways off the point . Similar and comparable to the Vic Pearl.
It has more traction by comparison than the Vic Pearl, but very similar with direction change .

For more advanced bowlers it may be a piece to pull out on up front burn or when going around the pattern is necessary. For the humble (and perhaps even not so humble) league bowler it could be a love/hate piece.

I feel (surface pending) it is straight enough up front and thru mids that the down-&-in (THS, med speed) bowlers will enjoy its direction change, and the slower speed grip-n-rip guys will likely LOVE this piece.

I think if you like BIG angle you will enjoy pin up (i suggest using a hole to somewhat slow  it down at the break), and those whom want the traction of a Marvel Pearl, but the sharp angular motion of the Vic Pearl (I'd go pin down, below ring, middle or bridge PAP pending), for the afformentioned shape with just an increase in predictability.

Of course as usual with ANY piece that comes from a manufacturer with no obvious surface texture I'd crack the shell with your favorite hi number abralon/siaair pad


All in all I personally ENJOY this nugget (no pun intended )

After watching the video two thoughts came to mind. First, great idea to use the Fold Rhino colors scheme.

Second, over under ten pin nightmare.

Great job Britton. As usual, an incredible job of show n tell. I like the pearl and maybe Ill take one off my shop wall..... then again, no need for all that backend! But, i did promise GRstorm that I'd get one.
