I wouldn't consider either of those true dry lane balls.  Other than spares balls the Tropical Storm line would be the "true" dry lane balls.  I would think a Jolt or Jolt Pearl with a control drilling on it would be the answer.  Your going to want something that rolls smooth and just arcs on the backends so you can play outside farther without getting to much entry angle.  Possibly you could get away with a rolly/arcy drilling on the a Screaming Banshee.  I think a Banshee or Spitfire would generate too much entry angle if the pattern is truely dry and short.

I've been lucky long enough...now I'd like to get good.

I use my Eraser Banshee as a medium-light oil ball.

Jolts are a bit stronger in my opinion.

Of the existing reactive balls in Storm's line up the Tropical is the best 'dry lane' ball.  However, be careful to lay out the Tropical right as the core and cover can create a relatively strong flip ball with certain layouts.

Get a Tropical and drill it about 4 1/2 X 4 1/2... That should work.

From those you name, the Banshee - even though I'd agree that it is more a medium than a light condition ball, even with polish. For true dry, I'd also rather consider a Tropical Storm or maybe a Jolt Peral, even though Accu-Tread is aggressive, to, but yields a controllable breakpoint even in the lack of oil.

A Jolt Pearl Would be just fine FOr a dry lane ball.I agree With Stone8 Use a Control layout And you should be Fine.....My Pearl Is Very Controlable. Its drilled 5 by 5   with the Pin 1 1/2in About My centerline And It gets down the LAne Well and Controls The backend Of the lane.
