Drilled up the Furious today, very similar to my street rod solid. Has more off the corner and always wanted to finish no matter how deep I got with excellent carry.

Drilled pin at 4-1/2 and MB at 5-1/4 (marked on the ball by myself)
Used a VAL of 38 degrees from PAP to PIN line with balance hole 1/2 below PAP.

Reign would be better fit in the Roto brand imo.

Unless you stick "Reign" before "Storm" and get "Reign Storm (rainstorm)" out of the play on words. Nice touch, I think.

I'm confused about how the Furious wouldn't be similar to the Special Agent.  Same cover, but different core, so wouldn't overall strength be similar but with slightly different shapes?  Of course, it's possible some modifications could have been made to alter it a bit.

Not quite sure how I feel about the Fast and Furious, as long as the T-Roads are around it seems kind of pointless.  Although, probably a little weaker and at a price point you really can't beat for the performance.  Can't wait to see them in action.

Core has more influence on reaction than cover, the Turbine core is significantly weaker than the EMC core.

Blue Vibe(5 x 5 4000 Abralon + Reacta Shine)

Regin is set for Aug 28 I believe. ALso I belive that the r2s cover will be a better match up for the turbine core. I have seen a few street rod pearls that have looked good, didnt care for mine alot I had mine drilled weak with a label drilling. Let me tell you that mine was very early so it is really hard for me to believe that the turbine core is that weak. I think the street rod solid did match up better and more evenly with the tubrine core. The way that I look at it and I could be wrong just my thoughts. The reactor cover is prob, if not the cleanest cover that storm has made to date. Just look at all of the other balls with that cover that get through the heads so clean. I just think that the turbine core was a bit stronger then maybe thought so it was a bit harder to have the street rods match up to maybe a bigger range of players. I feel that with the stronger cover it will be more of a even blend between the turbine core and r2s cover. I am just excited to get mine when I have the extra money lol. What are other peoples thoughts, am very interested to see how others thing of the matter.

From what I've heard, somewhere around 60%-70% of ball reaction is in the cover, depending on how "dynamic" the core is in comparison to the core.

Theory 1 (I'm not sure):

For example, the Reactor is on the Domination and the T-Struck Pearl. The core is stronger in the Domination, so the same surface change would effect the overall reaction more in the reaction of the T-Struck Pearl.

OR

Theory 2:

Theory 1 blows and the cover is the bigger piece in the reaction puzzle no matter what core is in the ball.

Either way, the core has NEVER been more of a factor than the cover...you know, because it touches the lane and all.

I need more revs...and more weight. I mean, 15# is fine, but 135# doesn't do me any favors!!!

well i know that the furious will be a good benchmark ball by just looking at the information available and the fast will be good for if your furious is leaving big fours etc.

bigearv14 Thoes are both very good theories and I can see what you are saying.

I have a new theory

The fast and furious will be better then the pearl and solid street rod

Cover has FAR more influence on ball motion than cover.  The USBC proved that in their Ball Motion Study found here http://www.bowl.com/Downloads/pdf/Specs/08ballmotionstudy.pdf

In there you'll find the top 5 "influencers" are all cover related"

1) Surface Roughness (a)
2) On-Lane COF
3) Surface Roughness (s)
4) Dry Lane COF
5) Oil Absorption

6) RG
7) Total Diff
8) Spin Time

Despite what marketing buzz any company wants to put on their piece, science proved that COVER dominates ball performance.
