Title: layout help

i got a x blem attitude today it has a 3/4 inch pin and less then a ounce top i was considering puttin the pin in palm and the mb strait over from my center grip just wondering what kind of reaction that would produce.

I would do something a little more similar to the reccomended rising layout, move the pin and cg up say an 1 or so maybe over a bit, try and get it in a decent location to the persons pap and not too low in the grip. I'd take the mass bias and go with a 45-55 degree angle in relation to the pin so its not overly close to the PAP and not way to far.

That is just how I would approach but elements of the bowler I was mapping out the ball for would be taken into consideration.

And on your Idea, I really don't like the idea of the mb close to the pap and on/past the val, and with a low pin it would probably just roll really early have not save any energy. That is just my opinion though.

What weight is the ball?

Less than an ounce of top weight typically will be either a pin in ball or over 5" pin.  At less than 1 ounce of top weight in order to get any reaction from the core at all you will need to move the CG towards the PAP.  I would suggest a 4x2 layout with the pin somewhere around even with fingers.  If you layout the ball as you suggest you will get very little side weight... Unless that is your goal.
