For those that have the Byte
« on: December 31, 2013, 09:16:21 AM »
Can you tell me what you like about it or what you don't like about it?  How did  you drill it and when do you use it the most?  Thinking about picking one of these up but have only seen one go down the lane so far.

I dont have one but I've seen quite a few around me. My one thing would be take the shine off if you do get one or drill it with a slightly earlier layout. Ive seen most of guys around me having problems with over/under reaction and they keep sticking with it because they get carry from the core instead of switching to something different.

I subbed a few weeks ago with a guy throwing a Byte and I suggested to him to ball down early in the 2nd game (like 4th frame) and he struckout for 238 and then threw another 230 game after switching to a Crossroad

When u need an asymmetric pearl...I am yet to find one I like more...very nice combination...reminds me of the virtual energy except more length, more energy off the spot.

My dislike is is that I don't have much success balling down to it from a heavier oil ball, I usually have to skip down to a middle priced piece
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

Well I do like my Virtual Energy alot, still throw it from time to time so thats a plus.  I throw a Marvel as my solid oil ball and looking for a cleaner look when it burns up.  I'm just leery about drilling an asymmetric pearl because I had the Lucid and Anarchy and didn't like either one because they were too early.  Granted I put a bad layout on the Lucid but the Anarchy was one of my favorites and I hated that ball.  I do like my Marvel Pearl alot when I jump in with it, just sometimes its not enough ball.

Drilled mine out to replace an aging Lucid.  I used a 4x4 layout with the pin about 2 inches from the Val.  With my very low axis rotation I was looking for a layout that would hold tip a little longer on deeper patterns.  So far it is acting pretty much the way I want.  Used it on the USBC pattern from last season, and the carry was very good from inside 3rd arrow.

Terrific ball. Not as strong as I thought it would be on the backend, but it blends the pattern nicely and continues thru the pins as advertised. I didn't match up well with the Lucid, but I'm happy with the Byte. I drilled mine 4x4x2 with a balance hole 2" down from the PAP on the VAL.
