need more hook than Flash Force
« on: August 02, 2004, 11:02:16 AM »
I'm trying to help my friend with his all Storm arsenal.  He has a Flash Flood, which works great on our house shot, but he's wanting a ball that hooks a little more.  Would the Flash Flood work in this case?  He already has an Eraser PBT, Razor Wire, Fear Factor, Hot Rod, Depth Charge, Charge.  So, I guess I would like some input as to what would hook a little more (I guess a little more backend) than the Flash Force on a typical medium house shot.  He was also thinking about the Hot Rod Pro Stock, but I think that would be too much hook for what he's wanting.  The Flash Flood would be a good choice in my opinion because he doesn't have that many solid particle balls.  Thanks!

a little more hook than the flash force?...i would think that the razor wire and the power charge pearl would fit in there...even an aggressivley drilled hot wire would be perfect for medium conditions.  the flood is too new, IMO, to get it for a specific condition when it hasnt really been thrown yet.  storm has made some mistakes with lane condition suggestions for balls(Hot Wire for one), so be careful with the brand new equipment.

Hotwire13, I agree with you on the Razor Wire.  It does hook a little more than the Flash Force, but it is less of an arch and has a little too much back end the way he has it drilled (don't have the ball in front of me so I don't know exactly).  His Charge hooks quite a bit, probably more than the Razor Wire but a little less than the Depth Charge.  Thanks for the info about the Flash Flood.  That's a good point of view...I never thought about the condition being wrong.  The guy who runs the pro shop has thrown a Flash Flood, so I'll get his opinion too.  It's like there is a tiny hole between the Flash Force and the Razor Wire.  The Flash Force he has is drilled pretty weak, it's barely a step above the Barbed Wire.  So, perhaps a stronger drilled Flash Force could work too.

i dont suggest another flash force...it never became popular here...that line of balls from storm never really became a huge sell in my area.  i think you'd be better off with a hot wire...hence my br.com ID.  versatile, and gets a really nice angle if drilled properly.
