How often do those of you who sand your ball do it? Do you judge by the # of games or do you wait until the desired reaction starts to fade.

I wait for the reaction to fade.  Usually somewhere around 50-75 games or so.

I wait until either the ball visibly tracks out, or when I feel that it lost reaction. I do not keep book how often I use a ball.

It will take a good couple of games before I consider somw surface work, and normally I do an oil extraction in the bucket prior to any sanding or surface refreshment on the spinner. In most cases, the bucket tour and some good cleaning restores much of the reaction and does not make sanding (= material base reduction!) necessary.

If the ball is an oiler with a dull surface from the factory, I will re-sand it after every set. Whats the point of having a dull peice and have the lane shine up the ball and thus, losing the reaction and the reason you bought a dull ball in the first place????

If it is a shinny ball, I will re-surafe it when it gets a track in it or when gouges or nicks get on my nerves.

I usually hit my ball with the recommended Cleaner until the Reaction fades at that point I start using sandpaper to bring back reaction.

Dizzy, do you use really hot tap water (how long do you soak it and what do you wipe it off with)? Also, do you plug the holes?
