End of Reigns?
« on: January 28, 2011, 09:34:18 PM »
Does the release of the Victory Road mean the end of the reigns? I know the t road line went pearl (troad pearl), solid (troad solid) and then ended with a hybrid (hyroad). Now the reign line went pearl (reign), solid (Rof), hybrid (reign supreme), and now a new pearl which is the victory road.

I hope im safe to post right now.  Yes in my opinion the reigns are done.  i think next will be the victory road core wrapped in the R2S solid coverstock.  Then maybe a hybrid.  you can see by looking at the new core in the victory road, the changed they made to the hyroad weight block to alter its numbers.

It's possible.  But even if the Reign series is done, I think they will keep them in circulation for a while still.  I hope so.  I really like the CAM core.

There seems to be no coverstock option left, except particle and particle pearl and Storm hasn't done that in a long while.

The Reign series seem to be a notch up on the Thunder Road series in backend strength and overall hooking amount by a small factor. Meanwhile the Hy-Road is still on cruise, with continuing sales strength. It's a ball that no one can put down once they start using it. It seems to be the Danger Zone and Vortex II Sanded of the Storm brand.
(Some people may debate that that ball should be the Virtual Gravity.)

The only thing left to do in the reign series line is stronger covers.

Could always get an extremely long pin reign ball and flip it around measuring the negative pin with a quarter scale. Then lay it out off the negative pin

Hmm.  Eternal Reign

           Color:  Black/Gold

           Core: CAM

Coverstock: R2X/R3X Solid, Pearl or Hybrid

           Fragrance: Aromatherapy sage

I'd buy it.

In most cases this isn't a viable option for us mere mortals to find a ball of such specs.  Besides it'd be pretty rare to actually need a ball in which you found an 8" Pin and decided to drill it upside down.  Kind of defeats the purpose of what the ball was designed for.

Wow look at that I'm not the only immortal that was able to do that to  a strike cell.  I threw the strike cell back in 09.  Pro pin balls are not hard to come by you can order them online or request them through ytour proshop. If the company has the disyance, they will send it.

So you actually ordered the Strike Cell that way?  Or was it something you just happened to receive and had to find out what you could do with it?

Just curious, did you actually like the Strike Cell with this layout, and if you did like it, how many of your new balls have you asked to be sent like this?

It was a ball I naught on eBay.  I'm pretty sure the whole bunch of them that were made were bowl like that.  I knew what to do with it the nucleus core found on the cell was a very symetric asymmetric core.   The ball could be flipped while keeping the numbers RG and diff the same.   My strike cell was 9to10 inch pin to cg. After i flipped it and wieghed the statics ot worked perfect and rolled great.

TLC,

I was given a Rogue Cell with a 9-1/2" pin by the pro shop that I use here locally.  I lined up the pin with the MB and found the "negative pin" with my Pro-Sect, 13-1/2" from the marked pin.  The ball rolled really well for me, and I really like the reaction.  Not sure I would request a ball like this, but all I had to pay for was the drilling, inserts, and thumb slug, so it worked out well for me.
