domination

Well, I decided to go with this ball anyway, despite my pondering the shift and secret agent that is due to come out in a couple of weeks.  I need to get more games with this piece, but it seems to be pretty good from my initial observation.  The ball is drilled with a 5" pin to pap and 4 1/2" mb to pap, with the pin 4" above the midline.  This is the first asymetrical piece that I have drilled with that far of a pin to pap.  To me the storm asyms seem to roll fairly similar to the brunswick asyms, perhaps with slightly more continuation.  Both storm and brunswick seem to make very smooth asyms.  Morich and some of the other companies have asyms that really roll heavy in the midlane and sort of cut on the backend.  I personally really like that reaction, but I may actually preferr the reaction that the storm asyms provide.  The ball gets down the lane fairly cleanly and then just revs through the pin deck.  If the domination can carry the light pocket hit like the morich stuff that I've had in the past, it will be a real keeper, and rival the Awesome Flip as my favorite pearl.

I went out tonight and cut it on a slightly broken down shark pattern.  The ball had tremendous carry, and worked quite well.  I figured that the ball would have difficulty getting traction on a longer than normal pattern.  Though that was somewhat true, the ball did dig in a bit on the backend.  The backend reaction of the ball allowed me to stay up the back of the ball to allow it to check up a bit sooner without having my carry suffer.  Over the course of five games there were only two decent shots that didn't carry.
