I remember when the Lucid and Defiant Edge first came out and everybody was comparing them to the Critical Theory and it seemed like there was so many differing views on these 3 balls (from one being the most backend they'd ever seen and the others being about as mush hook as a plastic ball; and everything in between, the reviews were just all over the place). There was no way that one could get an accurate view of the true nature of these balls because they were so new.

So now that some time has passed and alot of people have had a chance to either throw or see these balls in action on different lane conditions and different environments... what would you say the differences are? In the sense of like Oil handling capability, overall hook, length, backend?

And I'm curious as to how most people are throwing the Lucid and Critical? Sanded in Out Of Box 4000 Abralon... or is most people polishing them up like Storm and Roto usually sends out their Pearl coverstock balls (like the Edge is in Out Of Box)?

I cant consistently get a good read at the breakpoint with the lucid..so ill probably polish it.

Please let us know on this thread when and if you do polish it.

My critical with polish still out hooks my edge also btw

I take that to mean when both are polished, the Critical is stronger just in overall strength whereas the Edge has the bigger backend? Did I get that correct?

i would love to see a nano pearl, defiant edge, critical theory, lucid (anarchy too?) Video all at 4000 grit no polish...then we could see who the king is...i got all 4 with the same layout but no video camera!

Somebody get this man a camera quick! Those would be great to see. I'd love to see them all compared polished to the same finish.

Feel free to throw the Nano Pearl into the mix for comparison to the Lucid, Critical and Edge. I should have included it into my original title of this thread.

i do not have a ct but.  ido have the edge, nice even controled backend, use this as my benchmark.  the lucid for me is by far the strongest off the spot.  when the lucid is to much  the nano pearlfits right in the middle nicely.  hope this helps.

Been keeping my Lucid at 3000 abralon with Clean N Dull, haven't been able to throw it lately because the lanes have been pretty dry lately. Never threw the CT very well, just didn't like the ball that much. Would love to try the Defiant Edge, and I might, but I'm leaning towards buying another Lucid.
