Pearl suggestions
« on: October 31, 2013, 06:46:14 PM »
Hello Stormers,
I am looking for a high end pearl ball to go above my IQ Pearl (which I love) so far I have come up with the Roto Grip "Totally Defiant" but I really would like your suggestions.

I am not a cranker at all but I do like opening up the lanes as I enjoy playing up the boards but I do prefer a nice swing shot that a pearl usually gives. I can stand 20 to 35 board if that helps.

I am not brand specific as most of the brands look great at least to me  :)

Thanks, Jake
Now throwing pretty much all flavors...

How does your IQ Pearl roll for you? Skid/flippy? Rolly? Inbetween?

If you're looking for something that's stronger with more backend reaction, I'd say Byte.

If you're looking for something that's stronger but a slightly more even roll, I'd say get a Marvel Pearl

Marvel Pearl should be what you're looking for. Stronger overall (core/cover) and very versatile

Byte is perfect for this. You will have more of a skid snap shape but it is an excellent ball that will fit the bill perfectly. If its a little too snappy you can knock the polish off and it'll be good to go. Great ball.

My 2¢ is to stick to what you said originally, Totally Defiant (TD). The TD will give you a strong mid lane read and will not stop on the back end. The Byte if you are considering will give you a cleaner line through the fronts and some of the mid lane before wanting to change direction.

Just depends on which shape you desire.

Agree with Straight ball.   You really see the angularity difference of the Totally Defiant over the Byte if you can find a Storm demo day.   IMHO, the Totally Defiant was too much backend while the Byte was just right.  I would also add, the Hy-Road Pearl has also been a good look for me.
