The ball came out just over 6 years ago and has the Accu-Tread reactive and they are very durable and don't crack! If it's not kept on the garage floor where it's subject to a lot of temperature change, it won't crack. Any ball will crack if left in a bad environment with a lot of temperature change and don't leave any ball setting on the garage or basement floor or any concrete floor. When people bring their cracked bowling balls to my shop they all tell me they kept them in the garage or in the basement. Back to the price on the ball, it's rare to find a NIB, but it depends on how bad you want it! I would just buy the new 2nd Dimension instead! Just my $.02, Bruce
P.S.
Sorry lsf_21, not a knock on you, but I still have a X-Factor that's not cracked and it's 6 years old!

X-Factor is one of the best Storm has ever made, but it's not worth THAT much... If you look at the bids, starting price was $.99 so it is not the seller who has the price at what it is now, it is the bidders who have it that high

I had a conversation with a rep a couple of years ago that got me thinking on trying what he said causes cracking. The weight blocks in a lot of the newer balls are so dense that they are pulling on the shells, more specifically the shells at the gripping holes where the structural integrity of the ball is compromised. So in essence, gravity is a contributing factor in causing the balls to crack. I had two balls, that were drilled the same way, put one ball on the floor in a box holes up, and the other holes down. Left them there for several months, sure enough, the ball that was sitting holes up split sometime during the summer time, while I still have the holes down ball is still in tact..

back on topic though, I wouldn't say that ball is worth 202 dollars by today's standards.. I would still pay in the neighborhood of 140 for it though because NIB it would still be good
