Mid peformance ball for med-heavy oil?
« on: September 04, 2006, 07:18:47 AM »
I will maybe get a new ball for the heavier stuff, and i dont know wich ball i should get. Im not gonna buy a high peformance ball or particle equipment.
Could the Diablo work on the heavier stuff with a strong drilling?
I dont like the thunderstruck solid, only because of its color, so im not gonna get that one .

Im thinking more along the lines of the Pyro for its particle pearl cover. Looking over the storm line up, they dont have the type of selections they had at one point, but that would prob be the best bet.

Hmm, the Diablo from what i've seen would probably be a better option, the Pyro acts like a pearl for medium heavy but can get swirty, I would go with the smoother and from what i've seen, good carrying Diablo.

Solid Thunderstruck with pin below fingers (if possible) and more surface to handle the "heavier" oil?

Diablo, Dark Thunder, or Thunderstruck are the best options for mid-priced medium-heavy shot.  The other thing you may consider is trying to pick up a Vertigo on eBay or one of the online retailers.  That ball was a higher-priced ball when it was initially released, but today you can get one for under $100 shipped.

THUNDERSTRUCK SOLID for sure!!!  Knock the shine off, and put the pin down, and it will handle medium-heavy with ease.  That ball is 1 of the most versatile pieces I have ever seen.  Every storm head MUST have 1 in their bag.  Pin up with no hole and the box surface is very long, hard arcing, and continuous, while pin down, with surface and a hole acts like a completely different ball.  I could warrant having 2 in the bag.

Hmmmm... I'm confused.

You want a ball for medium-heavy conditions.

You won't buy a particle ball.
You won't buy a 'high performance' ball.
You have a Vertigo, but you won't use it because it's purple.
You won't consider a Thunderstruck because it's purple (a pattern is developing here).

If you've decided on a Diablo just go for it - don't bother asking us

Thats my situation ;D
But theres a reason for all that.
1. particles: i dont need those, since i can manage on a solid reactive.
2. Since i live in sweden a high peformance ball is sometimes 700-1000 Swedish crowns more expensive then a midrange ball. Thats like $100-140.
3. The Vertigo is a #14 while my other balls is #15s and my dad throws 14s its better for him to have it.
4. Thats the only bad reason i have

What about the Double Agent?  Wait is that a particle one?  Pyro?  No...  And you don't want a Thunderstruck...  Ok I guess that leaves Diablo then huh?
