MISSION v VIRTUAL GRAVITY
« on: February 05, 2010, 09:48:35 AM »
I am going to punch up my mission today. Read a lots about the ball, but noone has compared it to the VG.

I was thinking of setting the Mission up just like my VG, 4.5 x 5 pin up. Will I get a different look?

Thanks

you will definitly get a different look as the VG will handle more oil in the heads as its a solid where the Mission being a pearl (even with its 2000 abralon cover) the ball gets through the heads super clean and goes sideways on the backend where the Virtual is more of a strong arc.

Thanks for the responses. Mission may be go-to behind the VG.

If you prepare the VG cover the same as the mission (500,1000,2000)The VG is way stronger. But both have advantages....

Umm.. The VG is very strong, but no way its stronger then the mission. If we were talking the Invasion.. then maybe. Not the VG though.

What do you mean by "Stronger"???

- hooks more ???
- has more backend ???
- handles more oil ???

Ended up drilling the Mission 4.5 x4. Used it this weekend along with the VG. Tizzle seems to be correct. Overall, the Mission definitely covered more boards than my VG, and was much more angular on the backend. If the reaction holds up, the Mission will be the first ball that I will be able to get comfortable with, moving well inside, and hooking the entire lane.

Charlest

I will post the exact drillings on both balls later tonight. Does it handle as much oil? Yes. I know, the Mission is a dull Pearl and is not suppose to handle as much oil as the VG. That is what I was thinking when I drilled it. However, from everything I have seen, the Mission is stronger in all parts of the lane. I would hate to see what would happen on the backend if I polished the Mission, I suspect it would be impossible to control. This is a ball that has potential for me, but I will have to spend some time getting used to the idea of standing left, and firing right after the lanes break down. This is the ball for that job, no doubt.
