Fusion vs Defiant Soul
« on: March 27, 2014, 06:35:33 AM »
Anybody use both of these ball??  I was very surprised how much both balls react the same. Fusion really hooks much more than I thought.  I was looking to replace my gold IQ Tour with the Fusion but it forces me way inside compared to the IQTP. Fusion is really close to my Defiant Soul which is not what I wanted. Any thoughts??   Maybe I can trade Defiant Soul for a IQTP.  Or shine the Fusion. I hate carrying 2 balls that react so similar. If my IQTP wasn't stolen from a recent tournament I wouldn't have this problem.  Any good trading sites on line??  Thanks guys.

This is a good trading site. Just go to the for sale section. List for sale or trade and what you are looking for.

Defiant Soul has a stronger core and cover. IQ Fusion is a little weaker but still very strong in its own right, I've seen a lot of backend reaction from the Fusion

+1  Both strong backend balls.   My Fusion (60x5x40) is angular for me and shines when bumping it off the 5 board at the breakpoint.   My Defiant Soul (also 60x5x40) is a just a little earlier read probably because of the 4000 surface but the asymetric core gives it a great kick on the backend (hits like a truck).

Asymmetric core of the Soul allows for fine tuning layout.  Again both great balls.

I have both as well, but I find myself throwing the Fusion almost exclusively.  The Soul has been a little big over/under for me, but I'm currently bowling on mostly wood THS.  I slaughtered brackets in a one tournament where I had enough volume to use the Soul, so at least it's paid for :)

I've never considered buying two of the same ball, but right now, I don't see why I wouldn't get another Fusion.

I think I have not had much luck with asyms, so that may be an issue as well.
