That smell though...

Anyone know if the smell of the Tour Fusion becomes more mellow after a while? New ones certainly knock my socks off.

You guys musta missed the Fear Factor, the absolute strongest scent I've had in a Storm ball. Sold the ball and still had that Plum scent in my bag for weeks.

Lol. No, I have a Fusion and it's not even close. The plum scent was so strong it'd make your eyes water. The Lucid and the Vanilla Citrus scent would be a close second...

For me it was the HRG licorice smell.  I could smell it in the car when my equipment was in the trunk.

Man I would love a fusion but the smell kills me. I'm a person that gets head aches walking by bath and body works store, the fusion gets me the same way.
I had to get rid of my Marvel-S because of the smell. My head hurt just having it in my bag. I like the crossroad though.

I am too prone to migraines to throw a storm. The smell of some of their stuff can trigger it... still have to deal with it from the people that throw storm. That is bad enough

This is the exact reason I have to be very picky with storm. The fusion is instant head ache. I really wish storm would do away with the scents all together. Every time I bowl with somebody that has particular balls I have to walk away after every ball.

Everybody, include my pro shop guy, says their mint ones are the worst, but my experience is the fusion is the worst. It is an instant headache for me too. I dread bowling against team on this summer league that has 3/4 of the people throwing a fusion.

Are these smelly balls targeted at younger people or what? What kind of balls are these? High end, mid range, low?

I just happened to see this by accident. I was searching for ball bags on eBay and some guy was selling a Storm Punch Out for $9 brand new. So I looked up on another website how much they sell for and I see in the description of Storm balls "Fragrance". I thought it was a joke and then found this post.

I certainly would never buy one. Heck, I hope my new Seismic ball never even touches one. I had a bad experience once.. bought some concentrated bacon scent. I was going to use it to make something else. Just opening the cap of that thing gave me a headache. I had a headache for almost a week.

They are targeted at the American market across all ranges.  Smart marketing as Storm is one of the more successful bowling ball companies in the USA.  Some people are more sensitive to the scents however, but it beats what the old rubber balls smelled like (and that was not a marketing tactic).  With my allergies, I don't notice the fragrance of any of their balls so they don't bother me.

I think you passed on a super deal if that ball was selling for $9.

The scents aren't targeting anybody, its something that only Storm does.  Not all of the scents are overpowering like the Fusion, most of them are mellow and unless you are up close and personal with the ball you will hardly notice the fragrance.

Who buys concentrated bacon scent?

It's all a gimmick, ....scents, diamond cores, carbon fiber out cores, finishing processes...you still gotta throw it well, post shots, repeat and adjust!

I was told by my driller that storm does this to mask the smell of their resin which smells awful. Don't know if that is true, just what I was told.
