What I wanted from this ball: A solid version of the original Hyroad with the same core that would work well on heavy to medium heavy oil lanes.
Result: What I was looking for. This ball allows me to play the heavier oiled portion of the lane with the same predictable smooth motion towards the pocket.
Compared to the original hyroad, this ball gives me much more of a smooth continuous motion through the heavier oiled portion of the lanes with a really reliable backend motion. This ball give me a very consistent read off of the breakpoint,
I tested this ball on the house pattern that we use at SuperBowl, the new center located in Metropolis Illinois where my pro shop is also located. Our shot is a modified top hat with heavy midlane oil and a graduated decrease towards the gutter. 41ft from 10-10 boards. I played around the 13 board out to 5. I was able to stay in this area and only migrate very little left with my feet throughout the 10 game practice set. The hyroad solid continued to be very clean and predictable off the breakpoint. Over the next set of 10 games, I had to move deeper inside around the 15-20 board and swing much more out towards the 5 board to keep the same line of course, but the Hyroad Solid continued to stay very clean and predictable.
To sum this ball up, It is a great compliment in to the hyroad series of balls. I am and continue to be a big hyroad fan and this ball has not let me down what so ever.
Pro Shop Reaction: Great! I have alot of hyroad customers purchasing this ball. Lots of customers like the look and ask several questions about the ball as well. Customers that purchased this ball are very happy with the ball reaction as well.
Recommendations: Great ball for beginners to advanced bowlers and a definate must have for Hyroad fans.
