My Stormin Aresenal
« on: May 23, 2006, 07:15:27 AM »
just a copy from Bowlingkingdome.com

Well currently i'm throwing only storm (i've met a few staffers and reps and really would like to some how some day be a staffer or something and pro shop is mainly into storm) but back on topic i have an arsenal starting to form to help me in my progression of bowling and here it is, comments and suggestions are welcome and appreciated

Coming soon a Storm Trifecta (not positive on drilling but i'll figure something out, and its second hand but in good shape)

Trifecta- well when it arrives it will be prepped and drilled to cover the heavy conditions i encounted (especially in the summer)

Agent- this is my benchmark ball and by far the favorite, this is drilling cg under right pin up at a 2 o'clock angle, its smooth and strong and continuous, good ball for heavy-mediums to medium oil patterns, this ball is strong and carries well

Hot Rod Hybrid- recently resurfaced and put to a 1200 grit high polish condition, this is my light-medium condition ball that is used when the conditions demand down and in or are just to light for my agent and (well soon enough lol) trifecta.

so yeah guys thats going to be my aresenal for the next while unless a new ball that really takes me by storm (tehe) is released and i have a need for it

comments welcome, and suggestions also, thanks for any replies

i would also like to note that i haven't shot under a 174 in

Pick up a Tropical Storm, drill it with length, it will be the best ball out of the bunch for lanes with lack of oil..  Plus very very cheap...worth the investment, and still turns and hits like a truck..

I second the Tropical Storm suggestion.  I have it and I can say it is a very sweet ball.

The three words that describe my Tropical Storm are:
Sweet.
Black.
Red.

I have all three balls you have / are getting and personally I don't see a hole in the lighter oil spot - it's more in the heavier oil.

The Agent and Hybrid are a great medium to light combination - but the Trifecta is not the right companion to these in my opinion.  Don't get me wrong I love my Trifecta, but it is really a longer - heavier oil ball.  In shorter house patterns this ball will roll out even in heavier conditions.

I'd look at a dull reactive ball to fill out your arsenal - get a Diablo, Vertigo, or Passion depending on how much hand you get in the ball.  I own a Vertigo and I love it - but it is an older ball that you many have a harder time finding.  You can't go wrong with a Passion - but based on your specs. I'd drill it pin over bridge or ring finger and MB kicked slightly right.  It will give you extra length while saving up energy for midlane to backend transition.

Oh are you talking about a smart addition to the arsenal?  My bad.  I just was happy someone was talking about the Tropical Storm.

But yeah, if you already have a Hot Rod Hybrid, that should do you fine.  I would listen to the other person about getting a Vertigo or a Passion.  I have a friend trying out a new Passion tonight as we speak.  I can't wait to hear back on how sweet the ball is.

I have both the Passion and the Vertigo.  The Passion is very strong on the back end.  I throw the Passion when the oil is very heavy.  I use the Vertigo for everything else.  Seems to work out well so far.

well our shot is not a house shot with heavy oil, they have various patterns they will put out and sometimes just flood it and theres many many things they do, the owner switches it up weekly and there are a few trifectas used at our center and they work nicely

The TRIFECTA is an excellent ball for the heavier conditions until I purchased the PASSION.  The PASSION is by far, a more superior ball for oil.

Hope this helps in deciding on your next purchase from STORM.

I agree on the Passion being an excellent heavy oil ball.  Where my Ragin' Banshee would skid past the pocket, the Passion would find it 9/10 times as long as I was on my mark.  Best ball purchase I have made to date.
