Frantic Review
« on: October 04, 2011, 12:42:29 AM »

PAP – 5.5 over and 7/8 up

MPH – 19

RPM – 500

I love the look of the Frantic, it is bright and shiny. When I first heard about this ball I was skeptical because as good as the Hyroad is, I haven’t had much success with it. The Frantic has the same R2S hybrid cover but inside is the N.O.S core used in the 2fast and 2furious.

I drilled this ball to be more skid/flippy. As I mentioned before I never had much luck with the Hyroad’s and tried every layout other than a skid/flip layout. Plus, I have a 2fast drilled to help open the lane up when needed so I figured this would complement that ball.

I haven’t been able to throw the Frantic a lot, but I initially like what I see. It is weaker than the Hyroad which is good for me because it will allow me to play more direct without over hooking like the Hyroad would. The Frantic gives me the same motion the Hyroad did, but I don't have the 4 pin, 2 pin reaction due to the weaker core.

When the 2fast is too skid/flippy, the Frantic is the ball of choice.  Due to the smoother ball reaction created by the hybrid cover the Frantic allows me to not give the pocket away when the lanes are tougher. The Frantic will best be used on medium to drier patterns when the Hyroad is too aggressive and pearl balls are too skid/flippy.
