My Original Shift Cracked....

Bummer... I went to sub last night & was going to put my Shift in the bag & saw it was cracked...
 
I haven't been bowling much lately, so wonder if the inactivity is cracking the balls....?
 
My 16 pound Shift cracked at the bridge, so it's still usable... But I bowl with 15 pounds now...
 
This is my 3rd ball to crack in about a yr.  Gone now are the Shift, Attitude Shift & X-Factor Perfecta... an O-seas release.

I have a 15lb Shift in the back of my shop....I think it's in pretty good shape.  It is just sitting around and I think the buddy of mine that owns it doesn't really care about it.  If interested I can check with him and see if he wants anything for it (I doubt he'll care very much).

Little known fact:  In Russian "Hope" and "Change" translate to "Tax" and "Spend"

 Mine too a few years back....its probably the most common core to crack....my original shift, and virtual energy both cracked on me....I think its very odd to hear of so many shape-lock cores to crack.  My original shift was sent in and I was told it was my fault...a "temperature issue", even though I know it was not the case at all.  I didnt even bother dealing with my virtual lol.  It's a shame how bad customer service is...they're lucky...all I do is talk their product up where I live.

Okay.  Lemme think about it for a spell.  I threw my Reign & really liked how it performed.  I know, they're 2 different balls, but I still liked it... But I am a fan of my Shift, that's why when I moved down from 16 pounds, I got one from pnj, down in FL.  He was a good guy to deal with.
 
Maybe for kicks you can see what he wants for it & PM me. Could make the decision easy depending what he wants... Thanks Russell, appreciate it.

I am more a fan of the Pro CG over the pro pin.  But thanks for posting, Cobalt, & will check out your post.

Bummer times two, I guess actually times three counting yours. I resurfaced a customer's Shift to the original factory 1500 polished. A bit tricky, but I think I have the right combo. He shoots 300 first game I deliver it to him. Next week he rolls a 812 series. This ball had hundreds of games on it prior to resurface. About a month ago, it started a small crack above his midlle finger and kept growing  slowly about an inch up and away to left. He was bummed. I brought my Shift in for him to toss to see if he wanted mine as a replacement. It had a different layout than his. He said thanks for thinking of me, I'll let you know next week. He called and said put my span and fit on it , I'll take it, I love that ball. I pulled it back off my storage rack in the shop and ...............cracked all the way around the ball. Went from ring upward 1 1/2" through pin ( split it perfectly in half- never seen this before) and all the way around to thumb. Just used it the week before !  The local bowling center flew it's flag half mast for a week for the loss of two great warriors. 

 

I think non-use of balls has a lot to do with cracking, don't know why, but have had many crack like this when setting even in a climate controlled room.

Alz, my 15LBer cracked at the top of the middle finger, went on a NW path til about half way around the ball then took a right hand curved turn over to the weight hole...
 
My 16LBer luckily only cracked at the bridge, so it's still usable.  But I'm throwing 15LBs... LoL.
 
Is it just me, or is it mostly Assymetrics that crack more so than symetrics?
 
But I guess this forces me to get my RS-P drilled up finally...  I've been wanting to throw this ball, but having other balls that were being thrown more, I've been hesitant to drill it.  I also have an Awesome Finish waiting to be drilled as well...
 
Right now in the bag is my Reign & my "Pro Pin" Special Agent. Thought Cobalt might like to hear that... LoL!  It's a long pin pro pin... And it's funny watching it sometimes... It's got a good glide thru the heads & then a very pronounced roll/read in the mids before taking the left hand arc to the pocket...  Everyone laffs watching it... It's there for league, but I hardly ever have to use it....

My attitude shift cracked. Had only about 60 games on it. Sat in the office and decided to take it and I saw that it had cracked all the way around. I've had this happen to both assymetrical and symetrical balls.


So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway? - Stewie Griffin
