Ball for lighter condition

Hi all Stormers,
Presently I am using the Dimension for heavy oil and the Perfect Dimension (oversea releases) for mid heavy to medium oiling. I am looking for a ball for lighter condition. Any advice is welcome but no pearlized ball please as I have no luck with them.....thanks !

i feel this is the only gap storm currently has right now, only thing that would be close is a weakly drilled, shined up street rod solid. Next step down would be a tropical.

That would be my personal favorite, too. With a high pin above the fingers, 4.5-5" from PAP, this should be a good compromise between length and control.

The Street Road solid is a tremendous ball.  Someone recommended to me here on Ballreviews to use the Street Rod solid below the Dimension and it has worked out tremendously.  I did not polish the solid yet though, but in OOB is still gets through the heads fine and a good move off the break point but not uncontrollable and the carry is great.

I beleive it was me, I have 2 street rod solids one with a pin up 5 inches from pap and the second pin down below middle finger 6 inches from pap.  I get great ball reaction with both and they compliment each other very well.  

  Storm 38 why don't you like pearls, I would recommend the Street Rod pearl for drier lanes myself.  Even though I still beleive these balls are to strong for so called dry.  I know your asking for a storm ball but other companies may offer better equipment for this lane a condition.  Roto - Neptune or a brunswick avalanche slide or pearl.

According to his profile, he's speed dominant, like me.  In that case, pearl equipment has a tendancy to skid too much and leave a lot of corner pins, and he probably can get away with a polished Street Rod solid on anything but a desert-like dry condition.

Yes Dan is right....pearl sometimes just slid too much for me...ok might just get a polished Street Rod....thanks guys !

You may find some success with my strategy for pearl equipment.  Don't take anything too weak, but use a little surface.  My go-to ball on medium to lighter conditions is a pin-up Spit Fire with a 4.5x3 drill (x-hole basically on PAP), and I sanded it down to 1000 abralon.  This cut down on the amount of skid it created and made for a smoother breakpoint.  I've yet to see a condition dry enough where the ball actually burned up and didn't carry well.  I do have to know when to put it up, however, since it hates carrydown.  I've also had success with a Total NV at 1000 abralon with just a very light coat of Snake Oil applied by hand.  If your speed is high enough (I'm around 17-17.5 mph at the pindeck usually according to Qubica system), the extra surface will take away a little of the skid and give you better control and better carry.
