Current average: 204
Ball Speed: 17-18 mph
Rev Rate: faster
Axis Rotation: low
Lane conditions: Heavy oil house shot
Lane type: synthetics
I currently have a xxxtreme. I want to replace this ball. I'm thinking of getting either a vertigo or a trifecta. Any suggestions? I'm open to anything in the Storm line.
Thanks.

It really depends on:
1. How is your XXXtreme drilled?
2. What's the reaction you want that the XXXtreme doesn't already give you or are you looking for a direct replacement?

All my balls are all drilled with the pin under the ring finger and the RAD under the thumb. This gives me an earlier roll with a smooth back end. I'm looking for something with more midlane hook in the oil.

I'm thinking of the trifect, but I'm worried about the ball rolling out. Particle balls make me a little nervous. However from what I've read, the trifect is a light load of particles and finishes fine.

Honestly either will work for what you are looking for...out of the box the Trifecta will hook earlier than the Vertigo since it is a particle ball. But you can get a similar reaction out of both balls with surface adjustments.

Read your ideas of what you want the ball to do. Will pass on some knowledge a Storm rep gave me, AVOID drilling the RAD and pin up and down like you suggested. Placing the pin and RAD in line like that tends to make the ball lope. In plain english, it makes it lazy reacting.
To get that midlane move you are looking for, swing the RAD about 1.5 inches from the thumb in the positive quadrant. Trifecta will move better in the mids then a Vertigo. Good luck!

Go with the trifecta as it is more similar to the xxxtreme. It tends to have more backend kick to it than the vertigo. I would reccoment the trifecta in nearly every case. I would only drill a vertigo if your house has alot of over under where an even rolling ball would smooth out the inconsistencies in the lane.
