need some advice about the passion
« on: July 01, 2008, 06:46:51 PM »
Hey, everyone. There is a pro shop that I go to and the guy has a storm paradigm passion on the shelf, I asked him what he would be willing to let it go for and he said $180, I thought that was too high for a discontinued ball. It has a 2 inch pin and the cg is like 1/2 - 3/4 inch right of the mas bias pin line. Well, I am kind of interested in getting this ball, but I wanted to know some suggestions on some prices before I talked to him any more about the ball. Please let me know what you guys think, thanks!

UPDATE! I went into the shop and I was talking to him about some balls and brought up about the passion, I asked him if he would let it go for $170 and he said yes, so I told him to not let anyone buy because I am interested in buying it from him. So you guys and gals think that is a good price?

If the price includes drilling- yes, it's a fair price.  Although the ball has been discontinued, your pro likely purchased it while it was still "new", thus his investment in the ball hasn't changed.  The Passion is a great ball, but you better have some oil.

Im so glad people are brainwashed to thinking that if they buy a new ball they will carry everything. And its even funnier when im carrying with my 15 year old ball and they're going flat ten.

I agree with you all, it does need some oil thats for sure.hehe!! Even mine polished up is really strong. I can get a thumb insert for 3.25 and finger inserts for 1.25 each, instead of $15 for a thumb insert and like $5 for finger inserts. So I could get everything for $176 which is pretty good, I was hoping for like 140 or 150, but 170 is not that bad, not when its the last one that I might be able to ever find. NJS, if your span is too short, then have it plugged and the span lenghtened just a bit so you can throw it I just had like 4 of my balls blugged and everything adjusted like a 1/16 and they feel much better now
