Shift Comparison
« on: March 12, 2007, 02:52:44 PM »
I have had a great experience with the low end stuff from Roto, but as of right now, my experience with their highend is less than great.  I wouldn't mind splitting my arsenal between Storm and Roto, but I'd like to know where their high end stands.  I have seen the Special Agent in action and figure that it could be my heavy oil ball, though I am unimpressed with either of the Paradigms.
The Shift seems like it could conceivably be an option as an ultra agressive pearl reactive, rather than the Saga from Roto.  I'd like to have some input as to where the Shift fits though compared to past Storm releases, specifically the XXX Factor and the origional X Factor.  The XXX was ok to me, but the X Factor, though slightly weaker always seemed more predictable and superior overall.  Thanks for your help.

Shift (like the Special) has an R2S cover so it is much stronger than anything else in its area. More than any of the X Factor line. I would compare it to an Ace on Steroids. It is a great complement to the Special. Shift gets down the lane easily but does not squirt (light load particle to thank for that), makes a hard and continuous move at the breakpoint. It is NOT a skid/flip ball. Can be used on anything from medium dry to medium oily.

Thats real good to hear.  Seeing the video for it, it seemed as though they wanted to compare it with the angular one, a polished pearl, but if it has some particle, it should be more predictable.  I personally haven't had much success with the Angular, and I figure that the Total NV would be the same case, but judging by what you said, the Shift isn't all that similar to them.  I think that I might check into this.

I have used my Shifts for at least 40 games and have yet to leave a 2-10 combo, amazingly enough. Have been a few big splits on overreaction from the dry but not more than I deserved LOL.
