looking for something new
« on: September 10, 2004, 10:39:27 PM »
Hi, my father owns an Iconquad and had good results with it ( 2times 300) but it's dead now and he's looking for something stronger. He also wants to try a Storm or Rotogrip ball. So which ball would you suggest for (medium-)heavy oil at a high speed? We've been thinking about the Triple X xtreme and Oracle. What do you guys think? Tnx

Maybe a Triple X would be better, but we really don't know anything about the Rotogrips balls as they are very rare in Belgium.

The site doesn't get a lot of traffic on the weekend, please try to be patient.

This is all I found on the Quad.  Is the cover resin or particle?

The Quad has a med/high rg and a med/high differential.  If it's resin, the XXX Xtreme X-Factor should be a good replacement.  The Oracle would be better if he wanted something stronger and earlier (more arc) for more oil.

the Icon Quad (or sometimes the IQ) uses the Q4 particle cover, used on the Throttle On! and the Ricochet Ultimate, and probobly others. If you want a ball similar to this one, I would suggest a Storm core power LRG, AMF justice, or a Circle Athletics idol, they are both all med-heavy particle balls...

maelstrom I not sure where u got u information about the hero but the hero is a weak reactive shell and is the weakest ball in the lineup they have.  I do believe that u have it confused with the idol which is a strong particle coverstock. only problem with that core is that its a little restricted on the type of drills u can use because of the core strength there are some drilling that will make it flare backwards

Oh, my brain is not working today. I ment the idol, like you said and I will edit my post...

We can only choose between the newest releases of Storm and Rotogrip. There is a unique opputinity to buy those balls 100€ cheaper than normally.

We'll probably buy the Triple X XXXtreme unless you have other suggestions.
Would the Depth Charge be a good idea for replacing the IQ by something more aggresive?
