New Ball Ideas
« on: December 03, 2008, 03:07:02 PM »
So my strongest ball is the Rival.  I consider it a Medium oil ball.  Looking at Storm for a ball in the medium/heavy oil and a ball in heavy oil.  I've determined that the Virtual Gravity will probably be my heavy oil choice, but there might be a few more options for the medium/heavy oil.  I'm leaning towards the T-Road Solid.

Thoughts?

T-Road solid is a good choice, Rapid Fire solid, or a Dimension would also be good choices.

hyroad may be another choice for the medium stuff, the virtual is a beast in the heavy stuff.

Your Virtual should be alright on med/heavy also.  But, whatever works for you.  I'll say that Machuga won a tournament with a Virtual & then switching to a Hy-Road.  Just a thought.

Tizzle, I don't feel the Hy-Road is strong enough for the medium/heavy spot.  If I was looking for a medium oil/benchmark piece, that'd be my first choice hands down.

Monster: Yeah I saw that.  It was so great.  So, you're saying I wouldn't need something between a Virtual and my Rival because the Virtual would be fine on the heavier mediums too?

remember, the Virtual Gravity is 4000 grit, OOB. couple that with its Storm family trait of trying to go long, and you've got an oiler with more versatility than most, from what i've seen. it's longer than most dull balls, but that is NOT to say it has a late reaction.

That's true.  For that reason I'm going to probably drill it similar to 50 x 4.5" x 50.  It'll probably vary from that slightly because of where that makes the pin fall, but I can also tweak the cover if I need to.

I know everyone loves the Virtual and everything but i've found much better success in the Attitude shift. Very predictable of the dry and a great ball altogether. Maybe put a pin down and get a strong drilling on it.
