The Master Series by Storm strikes another success with their release of the Phaze V. And in this new chapter to the Phaze line, the Storm Phaze V brings some powerful results. The Phaze V is built on the strong and reliable Velocity Core and wrapped with a blue and black version of the RS2 Pearl Reactive Coverstock. The Phaze V is a great ball. So, let's take a closer look at what's behind the Phaze V's success!
The Velocity Core is the consistent pulse in all of the Phaze line! And being a straighter player, I like how the Velocity Core rev's briskly in the mid-lane without losing its inertia when striking the pocket. Additionally, I can rely on the Velocity Core to remain consistent through the hook and roll phases, providing me with a ball motion that is dependable and stable. And lastly, I like that the Velocity Core doesn't overreact to a bad shot off my hand. With its smooth and reliable nature, the Velocity Core provides a lot of forgiveness I can depend on when my release is not at its best.
The blue and black RS2 Pearl Reactive coverstock is the ultimate compliment to the Velocity Core. The RS2 Pearl provides smooth traction in the mid-lane and has a clean yet, crisp turn off the pattern. Further, the theory is the color blue is the most consistent in motion. And the blue/black mixture in the RS2 Pearl proved that theory to be true! I liked how the RS2 Pearl cover was smooth and predictable as the lanes transitioned. It blended the breaking down conditions effortlessly and stayed consistent all night. And instead of becoming "jumpy" or erratic, it provided a reliable motion I love to see and count on at any time during competition.
With the all-new "Recta Gloss" finish found on the Phaze V, I decided to roll the Phaze V with its new box surface, and I was pleasantly surprised at its results. Of course, being a high-speed/low-rev player surface is my friend. However, with the Reacta Gloss finish, I found a great blend of traction and length in my ball motion. High-luster polished balls can go too long for me, and too much surface can cause the ball to roll out and flat ten. But I found the Reacta Gloss complimented my release and gave me an excellent balance of skid, hook, and roll all night long. And when you have balance – you bring score!
So, in conclusion, the Phase V is an excellent release by Storm. And with the winning combination of Velocity Core, RS2 Pearl Coverstock, and the all-new Reacta Gloss finish, the Phaze V will deliver results for many different styles of bowlers. And to those high-speed and low-rev players like me, the Phaze V will become the ball in your bag that you know will get the job done every time.
