Gravity Shift or Paradigm Domination
« on: March 01, 2008, 02:11:45 PM »
Just curious if anyone has thrown both and your thoughts? I've heard that the PD was even stronger and more angular than a Angular One, but I never got to throw one. I'm about to pick up another skid/snap ball to replace it and wondering whether the GS or PD would be more angular in the back?

thanks

I believe the Paradigm Domination is set up to go longer & then flip like a hockey stick, more so than the Gravity.  The anchor man on my team has the PD & that's exactly what his ball does.  He stands left & throws a strike ball to pick up 7 pin spares.  It's the funniest thing to watch.  The Gravity was designed to start reading more mid lane than the PD but still has a ton of backend in my opinion & I think can handle more oil than the PD.  I just think the the PD goes a touch longer before flipping.  JMO.  Personally, I prefer a ball like the Gravity Shift.  It's more controllable than I think the Paradigm D is on the backend.  Plus it's newer & obviously not discontinued like the PD is. LOL.

MP nailed it. PD is long/flip to the max, GS starts up sooner, can handle more oil and is smoother than the PD. Storm rep said the PD uses the most pearl ever in a storm ball.

the Paradigm Domination will be waaaaay more angular. Seriously 55ft and sideways. the Gravity Shift reminds me alot of the original paradigm execpt maybe a little stronger and sharper because it's not particle. hope this helps.

The original Paradigm wasn't particle unless Storm did something and didn't tell anyone.

Original Paradigm is Pearl Reactive.  It's a pearl.  Not pearl/part.  Straight from Storm's website for those of you who still doubt:

I remember Jeff Carter stating there was a little particle in the ball to keep it from hooking off the lane.

When the Paradigm came out it was said that there was indeed a small load of particle.  It was so small that they did not claim it as a particle ball at all.  Atleast that is the story I remember hearing.

I have both drilled 4x4 and the gravity shift is alot more ball than the domination. If you are on a fresh shot with clean backends go with the domination because for me the only way I will be able to throw the Gravity shift with this drilling is on a flood with vary little backends.
