Hello all,

I have seen (not thrown) both of these balls and I was wondering if anyone has done a comparision.

My 14 year old daughter (170 avg. - slow speed, high axis tilt) has been throwing the Dark Thunder as her heavier oil ball for the past 6 months and she uses an original X-Factor as here medium oil and transition down from the Dark Thunder ball.  

The Dark Thunder is a smooth overall arc for her and when there is enough oil for her to roll it from around 20 out to 14 it comes smoothly back to the pocket on a consistant basis.  When the lanes break down she changes to the X-Factor and moves in a bit where she is able to bounce off of the dry but the reaction is not even close to as consistant.

So my real question is this - what difference should she expect if we replaced the X-Factor with a Thunderstruck?  I am assuming since they have the same core it should be smoother than the X-Factor but I am wondering what kind of difference there should be between a solid dull Monsoon cover and a solid polished Reactor cover.  The best scenario in my opinion would be a 2-4 board difference in overall coverage but it is not clear to me that is what she should expect.  All opinions please.

I'm not sure I agree they would be similar.  I have seen two different people throw the Thunderstruck and it seems to be a smooth arc like the Dark Thunder but it doesn't seem to have as much overall hook as the Dark Thunder.  To me the Thunderstruck looks closer to a Flash Force.  My problem is that I am watching ball movement of three different bowlers to come to my conclusions so I have to account for differences in release and speed in order to compare.

I have seen you comment on your Dark Thunder before.  Do you consider it a medium oil ball or a heavier oil ball?  Did you leave it box condition or is it sanded or polished?
