New Balls coming
« on: September 11, 2004, 11:10:32 PM »
Got word from the distributors that an X-Factor Ace and Hot Rod Pro Stock Pearl was on the way, and should be in stock earlier in October.

I am sure this means that they Hot Rod original is done.

Geez, what's the deal with the X-Factor line?  I thought the Triple X was gonna be the last one, then there's the Xtreme, now ANOTHER one?  Can they just not think of a name for a new master line or something?

Sorry, but this is beginning to sound like what so many of the Columbia nay-sayers have been screaming about and making fun of Columbia for. It seems to have gotten to the point where one no longer has to be concerned with drilling options or surface change options - you only have to pick the right ball.

Like Columbia they are discontinuing balls that they don't give half a chance of succeeding. Marketing seems to becoming their life's blood, not bowling.

I used the word 'seems' advisedly, because I don't know if this is the case. It's just the appearance of the situation to me.

Make no mistake; I still believe both Storm and Columbia make some great bowling balls. I just believe that in such a limited market, this strategy, a literal parade of bowling balls, can be very self-defeating.

And these two companies will be what the bowling public sees on the Nat'l PBA and purchases because companies like Mo-Rich, Visionary, Lane #1, LaneMasters won't pay the exhorbitant licensing fee.

An ace, the name has relations to the duece, but how similar could it be, especially since they came out with a stronger version, the XXXtreme. And another thing that I wonder is, that storm likes to use cores either two or three times, which thwey have done with the RAD3 core, so do you think it could be another modification?

Since I have heard the X-Factor is going away maybe the ACE (a one) is the original X-Factor Core with the monsoon coverstock on it???

As for the massive ball release year Bill Chrisman said in a BJI article earlier in the year that it was going to be their biggest ball year!

Just retiring older stale core/cover combinations.

AND for those of you who care what the ball is called....WHO CARES???????

The problem i have is not the fact that they are releasing to many, but the fact that i want EVERY SINGLE ONE!  I would like to see them space the releases a little bit just so I can save up!

Hey Billy Ray, I believe they already made this with an overseas release called the Pro X-Factor.

Strictly my speculation!
I love teh original x-factor core but would love to see a stronger pearl cover on it.

Yes, you can get X Factor Pros all over the internet, ebay, bowlingball.com, they are not that hard to find.

Does anyone have a picture or any info on these balls yet?

So Mike, The STORM Tech guy said it is a Deuce with an X-Factor cover, in that case it would make it an original X-Factor since the Deuce was and X-Factor with a Solid Reactive cover instead of the Mystic Pearl coverstock.
