The Crossroad has quickly become my favorite ball.  As good as the Hyroad was I never had a lot of success with it.  I really like the Victory Roads so I was excited, but apprehensive for the Crossroad.

I decided to put my standard layout on this ball, pin above middle finger with the cg kicked out and an extra hole.  After a few shots in practice, I decided to hit the surface with a 2000 abralon pad lightly by hand to get it to read just a little quicker.  The surface was the key.  I have thrown the Crossroad about 10 games in competition and my low game with it is 229.  The last two weeks on a USBC White pattern I shot 790 and 813.

I think Storm has almost perfected the hybrid balls.  The Crossroad is a hybrid of the Victory Road and Victory Road solid, and it fits in between those two balls perfectly.  I have not been able to use the Victory Road very much because I match up better with the Frantic.  I do use the Victory Road solid a lot as it is one of the first balls out of my bag.

One of my favorite balls that I still use is the Reign Supreme.  The Crossroad reminds me of a Reign Supreme on steroids.  My Reign Supreme is very smooth at the breakpoint and allows me to use it on a lot of patterns.  I actually used the Reign Supreme all nine games at last year’s Open Championships.  The Crossroad gives me the same motion through the front of the lane, but is much more angular down lane.  Compared to the Frantic, the Crossroad is about three boards stronger.

If you like the Frantic and Victory Road balls, you will definitely like the Crossroad.  Higher speed players may need to put some surface on the Crossroad like I did to get it to read just a little earlier and create a better motion through the pins.
