same cover and core as the t-road pearl... i drilled a fringe thinking it was the same as a 2fast, which i loved, and was completely disappointed. hopefully this doesn't happen again

FYI, here's how Storm says the Hy-Road Pearl will react compared to other balls.
(Speed Road is an international release for those wondering)

The color of the ball is what makes it different. Red and yellow seems to hook the most, in my experiences. Early reports have the Freakin' Frantic much closer to the 2Fast through the front of the lane, with more backend kick.

This is part of the reason I bought more roto stuff this year and have recently purchased a brunswick ball. Albeit storm makes great stuff, and I've shot great with storm they just keep putting out the same balls. People will buy what works, but after awhile its hard to create excitement over bowling balls u have had before. The marvel- s is a new combo, and the hyroad pearl should be fantastic because it is a t-road pearl, however I know we are all waiting for storms nxt big idea like they had this year with the tour balls.

Wouldn't you say that the Hy-road pearl is simply a re-designed Victory Road Pearl.. A way to put the product back out with a boost, given the popularity of the hy-road??

The core has gone back and forth since the original Thunder/ Thunder Road balls. Where the "power ball" is placed in the core, and the densities have been tweaked over many years. It has seen variations in the Hot Rod series as well as the Thunderstruck and T-Road series and Erasers.

It is really hard to come up with something, core shape wise, that would be unique and different to the industry, when talking about symmetrical cores. ALL companies rehash previously released cores, with newer, more modern covers and tweaks to the densities.

Not really in this case.  Two completely different cores.

Is it just me or wasn't there already a Hy-road pearl called...umm yeah Victory Road?  That was a pretty good ball itself. Discontinue it only to replace it?

The Hyroad name is probably more marketable than the Victory Road name.

No, different cores. The T Road pearl would be similar. Same core, and R2S pearl cover. The T Road was thought to have some of the curelyon in the cover that made it really clean, though.
