This might be relevant to your question.  I have a Second Dimension.  Same cover as the Prodigy and though the core is different, the RG and Differential of the two cores are very close.  Out of Box (1500 grit with polish) it goes somewhat longer and has somewhat more snap on it.  When I took it to 4000 with no polish (also the OOB for a Prodigy), it started to move a bit earlier with a bit less backend.  I found this overall to be less usable for me since it required a fair amount of oil to use it.  I do throw about 16 mph with lower revs and usually need something more snappy, but if you are a higher rev player who needs something to tame down the backend a bit, you might have different results than I did.

I got a good reaction out of it oob.  But I got an even better reaction out of it when I polished it.  so it's stayed polished.
