Maybe that's why they keep it around?
Really, what's wrong with it? Track's been releasing variations on the Morpheus core for several years and I think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Is there something wrong with Storm releasing balls with variations of the RAD or RAD3 core? What would you like to see instead?
I agree that the naming system is getting old. I though Triple Xtreme X-Factor was a bit of a stretch.

Chris... Any info beyond just the names?
Are the sport balls remakes of the old clear versions?

Before you can jump on Storm you need to look at the dozens and dozens of zone names that little b has come out with. What is that number up to now, 100 or more?/quote]
But Brunswick didn't have really silly names like Triple Xtreme Triple X-factor Ace Reloaded. That sounds like a character in a bad Japanese cartoon.

Why is it that Storm likes to name their high performance equipment after movies and TV shows:
ReLoaded = Matrix "ReLoaded"
Fear Factor = Reality TV Show on NBC
Triple X = Movie with Vin Diesel
Now Trinity = Blade "Trinity"
Am I leaving any out?

I beg to differ.. The Zone names at least make some sense compared to the X-Factor names..

It's all about marketing. Bowlers (scratch and handicap) associated Zone with a high performance ball. I just plain worked. There was no reason for them to stop using the name until it was "used up". I would guess that we would continue to see the Inferno line for at least a few more years. It's far from used up yet.
-
i agree...i love the rad core with it being one of my favorite cores along with the morpheus but the name has just got to go....

I can't believe you people care what the ball is called?
SO if we changed the name but the ball sucked that would be ok because it had a cool name then and you would have just wasted $200 on a piece of junk but would feel ok about your waste of money because it had a cool name?
Have You all lost your minds?

I agree with Billy Ray...as long as the ball does what it is suppose to do...who gives a rats a s s about the name.
-
haha, this topic's funny.
let's just hope that storm doesn't come up with: deep pink x-factor tour edition.
seriously, brunswick guys really shouldn't be saying anything. LOL.
also, i think dynothane could come up as the BIG winner in this category...
Thing Lives, Thing Returns, Thing Departs, Thing Strikes, Thing Kills, Thing Pounds, Thing Consumes, Thing Multiplies, Thing Hooks, Thing Soaks, Thing Exponentiates, Thing Thinks, etc...
back to on topic, so soccer ball's coming back!!????

lodge, I'd have to agree with you. As long as the ball does what I expect it to do, I really don't care what it's called. As long as I get strikes, or if I don't ( which is most of the time) it's MY fault, not the balls fault.

I don't know about you guys/gals, but I am really looking forward to Brunswick's new releases:
1) The Slow Kid Zone (only for bumper bowling leagues)
2) The De-Militarized Zone (with Colin Powell's pic in it--spare ball)
3) The No-Dumping Zone (only allowed for use in last 3 weeks of fall leagues)
4) The Zone Diet (only available in 6-8lb weights)
5) The Cheating Zone (a re-packaged Absolute Inferno)
6) The Drop Zone (the David Traber model)
7) The Smoke Free Zone (for those with less than 17mph ball speed)
8) The O-Zone (the last ball the USBC will allow to have extra holes in)
9) The Foreign Trade Zone (the Mika/Girard model)
10) The Quiet Zone (hits like a marshmallow, otherwise known as Columbia Outrage)

If you did not notice we got a director of a tournament club to back us up against your little wages you want to put up or " donate " to us. so where you at, bring it... give me a house ball and i will take those dollars of your hands

Mmike is still dumb. And Mason and Ryan what are you doing on the Storm topic page????????? Haha, this is my area, go back to your boring b section.
Anyways, back to the original topic...Who cares what the name of a ball is. I love the X-Factor line, and the Trinity one sounds good. Just got to wait and see...
