Huh...MC Escher works for Storm now?
I wonder which performance/price category this ball will fit into.
-
Heard that the new "MEGA-SHIFT" is in stock at the Nationals booth in Albuquerque, NM.
I may swing by there tomorrow and will report back if true.

Yes, this looks very interesting to say the least.... I wonder what it could be? Maybe the new r2x cover around the agent core? Or, better yet, a "true" dry lane ball like the too hot core with a pearl urethane cover? Thats something that storm has been missing for a long time, and no the tropical is not a dry lane ball, way too strong of a cover.

Yesterday night, a Dimension sitting in our pro shop.
R2X solid reactive, 2000-grit Abralon. Color like the special agent (more purple). The new core look like a modify shape-lock.
-
That sounds like it is going to be a hook monster. Also I agree with the no real true dry lane ball. I loved the too hot. Even the blue hot was a good 3 piece core with a mild cover ball that was great for the even drier stuff.

bowlingnut's source is 180 degrees wrong
-
So supposedly they are doing their answer to the Cell so the Storm guys would have a ball with similar traits to throw. Would this be that ball?

thats the mighty shift, not the mega shift, that is pretty much an overseas version of the shift, just look at the specs.
-
The Dimension is NOT an overseas ball...it is the new Master Line ball. Balls are already starting to ship to VIP Shops and distributors
The Fire Line is NOT done....The Rapid Fire Pearl is on the way to go with the Rapid Fire. The Spitfire and Surefire are being taken out of the line though.
As far as the "true dry lanes ball" goes....i think the problem is that people dont search for the oil on the lane often enough ( my opinion ). Most people tend to want to camp out in one spot. Everybody keeps begging for a Urethane ball or a re-make with an old cover....but what you dont realize is that they just wont sell good enough. You guys are in the minority of looking for that ball reaction. 90% of todays bowling population is looking for more hook, not less. My reccommendation is to either learn how to get deeper on the lane, or learn how to adjust hand/speed positions well enough to use existing product lines. I still use a Jolt Pearl when neccessary ( accu-tread ), but i havent found a need for anything weaker than that. Besides, on todays oils the older covers just dont work as well in general. I know there will be 50 people say " but my Trauma Recovery still works great". Again, these are in general comments and not true for everybody

yes the new Dimension will be release to replace the agent line and also release the new Rapid Fire pearl !!!!!
-
Deleted my posts I need to stop doing that, thought the guy knew what was going on but guess he is not up to date like Jeff.
-
its certainly not your fault...unfortunatley too many people hear something and run with it. My advice is that if you dont hear it from an employee of the company in some form, then i wouldnt put a lot of stock into it until you personally see it with your own eyes

That is one heck of a line-up. As much as I would like to see Spit Fire and Sure Fire stay, that looks great. I like the direction Storm is going.
-
Dang I go away for a little while and now the Agents are going away? This makes me sad. So is the Master Line is going assym?

What about the the Tour block II? It is a urethane and has a mild core in it, why don't they ship a bunch of them over here? I am sure people would buy a bunch of them. What Jeff said about it wouldn't be worth it to come out with a good urethane pearl with a mild core is up in the air, because for one there are some bowling alleys where weaker reactives and pearls are still too strong then plastic just may not role right either, so a good urethane pearl with a mild core would fix that, but ol well, just as Jeff said people can learn how to play a lnae right, but what happeneds when someone doesn't have enough ball speed or revs to move way in? then what? Any way, it is sad to see the spitfire going away that is one good ball!!

I defintely agree with this, unless the lane is completely stripped, there will be a way to get it down to a reasonable break point, especially on a THS.
-
Jeff Carter - Nice response about bowlers wanting a dry lane ball and not addressing their physical game as the remedy. I have a Big Hit Pearl that I have not seen a lane dry enough lately. It's only real use it to shoot the 10 when the lanes are curving, note, it's still not dry enough for it when the lane blows up. LOL And what ball is going to be close to the reaction of the Agent because that ball is like the X-Factor of old...it just does something different.
The Dimension is a must with the success of the Cell, what Storm staffer was not in R&D's ear saying "I WANT THAT LOOK!" At least I have a Fired Up sitting in the basement, blank and ready to replace the one I am throwing now.

I am going with R2S since it's the pearl Rapid. Plus, why offer R2X on a Fire Line product, that's stepping on the Premier Line's toes.

I believe the Rapid Fire Pearl is going to be R2S. The Dimension will be X solid.
Personally I would love to see something akin to the Tour Power back. Low RG and Low diff isn't something you see much of now, all the low RG balls are high diff.
-
I must say I want to see this new Storm ball, the cool little graphic on the storm website has me wondering when we'll get a peak of what it looks like...

The Rapid Fire Pearl is R2S and the Dimension will feature the R2X Solid ( 2000 abralon )
As far as the dry lanes ball comments....i'm not saying that certain people and certain centers dont have a need for a Urethane ball, but no distributor would touch them...they just wont sell domestically anymore. Its strictly a supply and demand issue folks. Without a TON of demand, there is no need for a supply

I would actually love to see a company make a urethane ball. I know lane #1 has the Liberator, but I don't want to pay too much for one either.

So is the Master Line is going assym?
This was my first thought as well. I was planning on buying another Special Agent before they go away (just ended one league at 239 with the Special). Now, I'm hoping the new ball is a low RG symmetric with the R2X solid. That would be extra yummy. If it's based on the shape-lock core, wouldn't it be too similar to the Attitude?

The Dimension feature the new Continuum Core...combining the shape and tunability of an asymmetrical core with the continuation of a symmetrical core.

The new SYMMETRIC Continuum core 'by the numbers':
Weight RG Diff
16# 2.49 0.049
15# 2.51 0.048
14# 2.55 0.045
This is one of the lowest diff cores used in the master line for a long time. With a slightly lower diff and judging how the cover works for the Gravity, I would guess the Dimension series will be slightly smoother than the Agents. However the slight increase in RGs will have the ball storing energy a bit longer, so its all going to come down to how the R2X performs in this solid version.
I can't wait to get my hands on this one!

Something like the Cell then? Numbers look close
