Hey guys,
I recently picked up a lightly used Vertigo from Barry (mrbowlingnut) and a lightly used Paradigm from Tracy (T Brockette). This is my first experience with Storm since the Eraser Reactive in 2000.
I had them plugged and re-drilled and took them out for a whirl last night in league.

Paradigm
Pin over ring with MB about 1" next to the thumb with weight hole near PAP
Light coat of Ebonite Factory Polish on this piece.
Can't tell you how pretty (Did I just say pretty? Haha), this ball is. The layout is practically the same as the Vertigo and I have an Ebonite The One layed out about the same way, except The One has a weight hole in the thumb positive quadrant.
The Paradigm clears the heads nicely and you can see the ball revving a ton. I am noticing that these Low RG/High Diff storm balls rev a ton in the midlane. You can just see the difference. It is really brain scrambling. With this ball, I chased the oil in and just tried to stay out of trouble. The Paradigm saved up a bunch of energy and just zipped off the backends. When around the pocket, carry was better than average and I was happy with that. There was even a shot that I leaked out to the OOB and the ball recovered for a nice light mixer strike.
In the 3rd game, the mids were so burnt up, I had to put it away.
BTW - On one shot I left a solid 7! On another shot I left a pocket 7-9 and I'm a right hander!
X-Factor Vertigo
Pin over ring with MB 1" next to thumb with Weight hole 1/2" under my PAP.
I hit this baby with a gray pad which took the surface to about 800
I know Liz Johnson used it on her historical PBA telecast last May. I decided to give this 2005 release a try.
I did not know what to expect from the SFA coverstock and let's just say that I was surprised. The composition of the core was interesting. It utiziled the Triple Disk core. Last night we bowled on what looked like Medium volume of oil with Out of Bounds around 5 board to gutter down lane with clean backends. If you bumped the outside early (about first 25 feet), the ball would check up, but if you got the ball out late, it would hang.
I tried to stay out of trouble, so I chased the oil in around 20 and got it out to around 8 at the breakpoint downlane. The Vertigo revs up a ton in the mids and seems to save up energy for the back. Kind of gave me a strong look in the mids, then it would hook and set. Real good hitting power and I was real impressed by the motion of this ball. Got some great carry and was able to shoot a 279 with this ball in the 2nd game. I would really like to see what this ball does polished as well.
Overall Thoughts.
I think I may have a pretty good 1-2 combo here. On fresher/heavier oiled shots, I can try the Vertigo out of the bag. On the medium side I can take the Paradigm out when the Vertigo is checking up early or when I need more angle to the pocket. The angularity of the Paradigm rivals one of my Ebonite One's. Impressive!
Storm, it has been awhile, but I'm glad that I tried you guys out. I will throw more games with this stuff and get another video out for you guys. Looking forward to potentially trying out more Storm stuff.
Take care everyone!
