Storm Options...
« on: December 06, 2007, 05:07:28 AM »
Hey everybody! I'm having a tough time making a decision. I'm joining a new league after the new year because my current one is just a short season. This new league has the option of getting a Storm or Roto Grip Ball at the completion. My options for Storm are as follows:

Paradigm
Domination
Shift
Agent
Special Agent
Secret Agent
Sure Fire
Spit Fire
T-Road Pear
T-Road Solid (Already have)

I'm not sure what to go with. I'm looking for something that's good for a THS. I'm a stroker who likes to play the outside, and track. I'm considering either an Agent, Sure Fire, Spit Fire, or a Shift. I'm not quite sure what to go with. I'm a stroker with a little faster ball speed. Which of those would best match up? Thanks for the help in advance!

Without knowing much more about the volume or distance, a Sure Fire would be nice to have. The ball has versatility and could be shined if you like to get the ball out to the "dirt" early or could be taken down more if you are on a higher volume puddle in the middle.

If nothing else, you would pick up a great benchmark ball to bulid around.

You mentioned you already have a T-Road Solid...  What do you think of that one?  Or should I say what sort of ways would you want to complement that one?

It's tough to beat the Agent!

The core strength should help the ball rev a little earlier then the T-Road pearl, which should help with your faster ball speed.

For my style, the T-Road solid is a great heavy oil ball. But I don't encounter it a lot so the Solid is a bit too much condition specific. And back to the Sure Fire, how would it compare to the Vapor Zone which I have been using as my benchmark with some success. I.E. Earlier/Later, etc. Thanks for the help so far!

For me the Shift is the best ball on the market, I own two, one is drilled to go long and is sanded to 1500 and the other is drilled more agressive and sanded to 1000. However, if you already have the t-road solid, your obvious choice should be the pearl. If I was to build a new arsenal , the t-road solid, T-road pearl , shift and plastic corner killer would be all anyone would ever need.

I have thrown both and the Vapor is sort of a different animal. Lower RG and slightly more diff than the Sure Fire plus the Vapor has a marked mass bias.

I can tell you about my experience with the Sure Fire. I see a very rolly, readable type of ball reaction. The surface is 4000ab out of the box and handles a decent amount of oil especially when there is some friction to the right like most house shots. You could take the surface down more and get a earlier read or, with it being a hybrid solid/pearl, apply polish and get more length very easily.

Good luck with whatever choice you make. Let us know how it goes.

I would get a paradigm or domination and then trade it for a T road pearl and $50 cash...
