Storm Step two

I have a quart bottle of Storm Step Two, that I don't use all that often.  I went to use some last night and noticed that it had settled into a big lump on the bottom.  I tried shaking it to get it back into suspension, but no luck.  Tried beating the bottom of the plastic bottle, but that only changed the shape of the lump.

I used the liquid that was on top, but I am guessing it will be a lot more like polish than like compound.  Is there any way to get the lump back into suspension, or should I just chuck it?  Do you think the liquid on top is usable?

The "lump" probably contains all the abrasives and other solids that would have any effect on the coverstock. The remaining liquid is most likely just a suspension agent used to keep the solids in the emulsion. I doubt it would do much by itself.

Maybe you can use a long device of some type to stick into the bottle and break up the lump. This must have been sitting quite a while.

This is very common with Storm's compounds...

It's a little too late now for you....But I tell customers who use this product to shake the bottles daily...Store them upside down for a few days and then right side up for a few days...And always Shake them...

Usually once the product hardens...It does not perform like when new...

If Storm would sell their Step 1-2-3 in smaller bottles like most other BALL
Companies do....It would help...The average customer usually will not use
up a quart that fast...

8 oz bottles work well...and cost less...No one likes to shell out big bucks for a
quart and then have to toss half of it away if it hardens....

Sure would be nice if Storm offered this product in 8 oz. bottles...

Okay, thanks for the information.  I noticed that they only sell quart bottles as well.  If indeed they do need a lot of attention, then it really isn't a viable product for me, since I don't use it all that often.  I have purchased Rough Buff in the 6 oz container and have heard it is comparable.  So I will probably stick with that.

I guess you can never really tell how long this stuff has lain around at the distributor warehouse floor?  Has is settled there as well?  I'm sure its not flying off the shelves.

I thought I saw a kit that had a 4 oz. bottle of each, but must not have. Was probably just the cleaner and polish.

No Milo...You did....but the kit had only the Xtra shine and Reacta shine in 4
oz. bottles....the Step 1-2-3 were only in quarts....

As a last ditch effort you can try warming up the product and shaking vigorously. Otherwise I would go ahead and chuck it.
