Closest Match to a 2nd Dimension
« on: March 09, 2013, 07:36:05 PM »
What ball currently in Storm's (or Roto?) lineup will give me a look similar to that of the 2nd Dimension? I have an Ebonite Playmaker which is my favorite ball of all time and a respected bowler in my area whose thrown both told me that the 2D is eerily similar. It's very hard for me to find either of those balls NIB so I'm hoping I can find something more readily available with a similar look. I'd call myself a tweener, approx 16 mph, 350 rpm. Currently using a Frantic, IQ, and Vivid.

Possibly the Fire Road.  From what I remember of the 2nd, was that it was a "weaker" ball for a higher end piece.  Rumors are that the Fire Road is similar in that compared to the other Road series balls, this cover is very clean through the front part of the lane and not as flippy as the Frantic.

id say a fireroad with a stronger layout would be close to a 2D also polishing a modern marvel i think would give you a similar look. the 2D had the ETM in the cover which made it grab the lane a little sooner than a full pearl so i think a polished hybrid could get close

The 2D was a particle pearl and overall was smoother version of its predecessor The Dimension. I agree with cheech on the Modern Marvel with polish or I'd suggest a RotoGrip Defiant Edge with a weaker layout. It offers a particle pearl cover and smooth reaction.

Disturbed all the way, the backend motion is very similar!  So maybe when they release a pearl or hybrid version I will 'officially' retire the 2d, like officially
