No replacement Tropical Breeze Solid or Tropical Heat?
« on: June 15, 2013, 07:20:25 PM »
Just wondering what the thinking must have been on this... I know they still have the pearls (Breeze), but when the condition is real short, I find the pearl flips out at the breakpoint, whereas the Solid would be a tempered arc on even the most dry of conditions.
Same with the Heat Hybrid that I have, I have it drilled with a 2" pin that is great for playing an outside shot.

I love both of these and it doesnt really look like theyre going to be replaced any time soon. With so much of the Storm lineup being dominated by strong equipment, I loved the fact I still had options with Storm equipment when things broke down or were short to begin with.

Well never mind about the Heat, I guess the Lights out is the replacement for that ball...

But the Tropical Breezes sold now will still have a different coverstock than the Solid that I have, and this makes me sad

Why will the Tropical Breezes have a different coverstock?
The Storm web site still says they're Reactor.

FYI I have the solid Trop. Breeze and it's just as flippy as the pearl and the hybrid.  It only made a difference when I changed the surface. Polished Reactor balls skid strongly and can flip hard. As near as I can tell  the hybrid will not be all that different; surface can still control this ball without losing much length or backend, on light oil lanes

I have a Tropical Heat Solid very smooth and strong!  Much stronger core than a Tropical Storm or Tropical Breeze.

I have a tropical Storm pearl (pink black).  It is skid flippy and hits hard but does explode off a harsh wet dry.

It hits very hard!

PS many people are talking about smoothness from an Arson Lo Flare but it is a pearl, I have an old Columbia 300 Super trooper I am falling in love with with its low differential .020 and solid coverstock for those jumpy wet drys.  Tropical breeze .009 diff, tropical storm .020, tropical heat .038.

I had a breeze soild, used it all the time when I bowl in older wood houses. It cracked on me and I was lucky enough to find a new one. Don't know about the next time I need one. I take it to all the tournaments I go to. ;)

Id suggest buying some while they are available and cheap then you will have nothing to worry about. Im sure someone would make you a deal on a case if you asked.
