Nova comparison?
« on: April 18, 2022, 05:52:25 PM »
How does the Nova compare to the UFO Alert? Has anyone thrown both at the same surface? I'm thinking about exchanging my Alert for a Nova. I throw 14 and the numbers are fairly close at that weight. I really want to try the R2X hybrid cover and most of the reviews on the Nova are very positive. I like the Alert but at times it is a little slow off the spot. It looks like the Nova with polish would be a touch cleaner and have more shape downlane. Are there any other balls I should consider? I am rev dominant with a high track and low tilt if that makes a difference. This is the top ball in my arsenal right now. Any input would be much appreciated.

I have the nova as slower and earlier than an alert. You might want to consider an rst X2 if you want something faster.

I see more positives from the dark code.... Havent seen hype with the rst x2 like I would have hoped.

Dark code is still a choice right?
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid

Yes the Dark Code is an option. I already have a Zen and UC2 and the Phaze3. Looking for something to handle a heavier volume than those3. But with my slower speed I want something that will get down lane and still shape on the back. All the solid asym choices are going to be too early and smooth. That's why I had it between the Nova with a high polish finish or the X2. The Dark code is weaker than the Zen, right? I still might keep the Alert. Just weighing my options before June 1st.

RST X2 for me over a dark code and quite frankly it’s not even close. That’s for what I like to see though. I will say the DC has a similar shape to an Alert.

Weaker than the Zen? No. Front to back the dark code is definitely stronger. Down lane the Zen is more than a dark code and definitely more continuous.

Personally I think the X2 and UC2 are so close there really no reason to carry both. For most people, an X1 or Nova is about as much ball as you’ll ever need at the top of your bag.
