Re: the Optimus Solid - has there been any successful Storm ball with the solid R2X coverstock? I can only think of the Prodigy.

I stand corrected.  Guess there's no good R2X solid balls :p

There has to be one...right?

I did a quick search for R2X on Storm's website and I didn't see any solid coverstocks.  There were a few pearls and 1 hybrid.  This might Storm's first attempt at a R2X solid coverstock.

The Original Marvel had the R2X Solid coverstock.

Attitude was R2S.

Gravity was first attempt in Feb 2008 but it was R2X Pearl. Then the Dimension came out as the Bowl Expo release in June 2008 with R2X solid and symmetric weight block. Then Virtual Gravity was released in Nov 2008 with R2X solid also but with asymmetric weight block. Second Dimension was Feb 2009 release but had R2X with ETM particles (mica). Prodigy was the Bowl Expo release in June 2010, had same cover as Second Dimension with symmetric weight block and then Marvel (Feb 2011 release) was R2X solid with symmetric weight block and Marvel Pearl (June 2011 Bowl Expo release) was R2X pearl. Optimus (2014 Bowl Expo release) was R2X pearl also.

Storm also released a couple of hybrids with R2X in the Virtual Energy (2009 Bowl Expo release) and Modern Marvel (Feb 2012 release).

As you can see R2X was on their best seller ever, the Virtual Gravity.

I love that mic drop graphic, haha!

Alright, so the R2X solid has some good history.  The OG VG was pretty sweet.  The original Dimension was so-so, the original Marvel wasn't bad from what I remember.

The R2X pearl coverstock, is my favorite coverstock of ever. I went threw a zillion Gravity Shifts, a Marvel Pearl, and I even tried a Fire Road (that didn't work too well).

You guys think Storm tweaks the coverstock over the last ~7 years?
