From what I've seen and heard, the original X-Factor stands out as many bowlers' all-time favorite Storm Ball.
I am wondering how the original X-Factor compares to current (or recently retired) Storm Balls.
I have a Gravity Shift and T-Road Pearl. These are by far my favorite balls in the bag.

Columbia 300 White Dot - Blue Pearl

I think the Gravity Shift is the closest ball in todays line up to an X-Factor. Seems like a modern day X-Factor to me.

I'd agree with that. The general reaction shape is pretty similar, though the Gravity Shift can handle a good bit more oil and is better in carrydown.

X-Factor was more angular down the lane then the Gravity but the Gravity is about the closest we've come to the second coming of the "X"!!!

Thanks! I knew I could get an answer here.

You'll never see one quite the same, my buddies OG x-factor has over 2000 games on it and still hits like a truck. You can't really compare any of the newer balls to it, take a look at the coverstock, its about twice the thickness of anything recent to come out

the x-factor was the most angular ball ever at that time.. it's much more angular than the gravity shift.. imo

i dont have the x-factor but i do have the x-factor triple extreme and i love this ball!!!still hits like a truck and it is nice and clean too.i would put this ball up against ANY new storm ball.

I'm one of those still bowling with an X-Factor, and it has about 2,000 games on it. It's not quite the monster it used to be, but I still score great with it, it's in good shape for its age and it's like going bowling with an old friend. It's only had one full resurface, which followed a treatment in my dishwasher. Great ball.
I thought its reaction was very close to the Paradigm. As for the current stuff, I couldn't say.
