original x-factor-WOW!

so i got an original x-factor on ebay for $12.oo! it was in very good shape, single drill for lefty that was already plugged. so i drill it pin over bridge, cg kicked out about 2", and the rad is about 2" right of my thumb. good god, it is too strong! also there is no x-tra hole. the surface is at 2000 polished. so how do i tame it a little? go up on the surface, or maybe pop an extra hole? any help would be appreciated

I would say add a hole because it lowers its initial RG to roll sooner.

I got mine that was ahead of your auction for 32.00 shipped ball is pristine shape, i am collecting these fine gems. I shot 223,243 with my first one friday night the ball is money as good as anything new made today or better.

no no i meant like on his pap or lower on his VAL, maybe i should have specified

P.s. my x-factor is pin down with a big hole on PAP ( I think ) and it rolls really well on med oil.

ive bowled along time, this is the one ball i wish i had new. i passed on it when it first came out. i have NEVER had a ball with this much continuation on the back. the deeper i move, the better it likes it! and everyone i talked to before punching it said it was tame! tame the first 45 feet maybe! i might leave it the way it is, and just use it when i need more angle. im definitely not unhappy, just wondering when ill be able to use it in tourneys. i tried it on regional pattern 1 over the weekend, this ball makes it look like a house shot! what a beast. best best $12 bucks plus drilling ive ever spent.

The Accu-Tread coverstock on the X-factor is great, and it reads the lane well once it grabs dry boards. If there is overall too much hook (and not the lack of oil for the ball?), I'd also suggest a weight hole on your PAP to reduce side weight a little, or even put it slightly´higher to reduce top weight, so the ball will break less violently and become "tamer".

You can also try a high grit, unpolished surface, e.g. 4.000 grit Abralon. This might smooth out the reaction once the ball hits the dry, but results might vary because there is the danger that it reads the lane a tad earlier and loses energy prematurely.

i think alot of it was me not being comfortable with that kind of entry angle! i'm of the heavy handed breed, so i tend to lean towards equipment that is smoother at the breakpoint, and with my axis point and axis rotation i tend to creat backend reaction naturally. so when i tossed the x factor a few times, i really could not beleive it. yesterday i was standing on 40, crossing fifth arrow, trying to hit my breakpoint of 4-5 board 45-50 ft!
