X-Factor Ace
« on: February 12, 2007, 03:02:01 PM »
I have an X-Factor Ace. Pin above bridge, CG kicked to the right and RAD next to the thumb on the right side. It was polished and I didn't like the reaction. I just hit it with green scotch brite (600 grit) by hand. It's nice now and dull. What could I expect from this ball?

How far is the pin from your PAP?  I can't tell you how MUCH it will hook without that distance, but I can point out a few things.  First off, you have a pretty angular drill with the way you explained it, so the ball should have been really angular to start.  Now that you took it down to 600 grit, it will probably be a little smoother off the break, probably like a hard arc.  It is also going to start up sooner now because you have a particle coverstock that is now dull.  That's the most I could tell you without seeing you bowl.

I did the same thing to mine.  It just became a lot more smooth for me rather than really inconsistent.  It hooked a lot earlier too, but I liked it better.
