Ace vs. Pyro

Storm's charts list them as pretty comparable. Anyone here rolled both? How do they compare?

pyro - definitely more versatile and i would say stronger off the breakpoint with a strong roll and continuous backend

ace - makes more of a move on the backend than the pyro and doesnt roll as hard that is for sure...

i would say the pyro is more versatile for a variety of conditions due to the core/ cover combination

the ace is a little more limited due to the stronger assymetrical core....

I also posted this in reply to your topic in the Misc. section:

My Ace gave me a bit more length with more of a "snappy" backend reaction whereas the Pyro is more even throughout the entire lane.

I find the pin carry with the Pyro to be one of the best I've ever experienced. Amazing hitting power with this ball. My Ace didn't hit all that well... sometimes left pocket 7-10's due to it's late entry into the pocket. The Pyro, for me, creates optimal entry angle into the pocket, leaving less "garbage" pocket shots.

I personally prefer the Pyro, but I like smoother reacting balls. For example, I had The One and a Paradigm... I prefer the Paradigm over The One for the same reasons I prefer the Pyro to the Ace. Hope that makes sense.

Also, I agree with BrunswickOwnage's observations on versatillity. The Ace, for me, was pretty condition specific. I've been able to use my Pyro on the SAME LINE for a couple different lane conditions at different houses here in the past few days. Very impressive.
