T-Road Pearl vs. Thunderstruck Pearl
« on: December 20, 2006, 04:05:21 AM »
I am looking at the reviews and came down to one of these two. But was confused by one comment that the T-Road was stronger ball.  (Thought it might be the other way around.) Not sure if the guy who was doing the review had the same drilling on both balls. If these balls were thrown side by side, with the same drilling, let's say CG in grip pin near ring finger, what would be the difference.

The T-road is a more aggressive ball by nature They use the same cover but the cover has an additive to increase traction making giving it a new name on the T-Road. The ball should get into an earlier roll and have more flare than the Thunderstruck.

The reaction probably won't be that noticeable and could easily be reversed by drilling and surface.

So to answer your question everything being the same(drilling, surface, speed, condition) The T-road should hook more but it won't be overly much more a few boards or so.

Yes but the base material used is the same reactor shell. it would be like adding particle to it.

When most companies do this they just rename the cover or give in the GenII status. Without the additive they are the same shells It is the GEN II version

T-Road is much longer and much more angular then the Thunderstruck Pearl.

I saw another T-Road being thrown tonight, And just see the need for anyone to own a ball like that. The thing doesn't make a move till it gets to the pin deck.

Sounds like this might be a good ball for slower speed players. Would that be correct?

Hopefully I can shed some light and help everyone.  I'm a higher speed player and love my T-Road.  I have also had the Thunderstruck Pearl and the T-Road is a far stronger ball.  More overall hook, and more angular.  This ball actually outhooks my Domination in the backend, I'm quite impressed with it.

The T-Road is more angular than the Thunderstruck Pearl. The differences are subtle and will depend on the bowlers speed and rev rate. That is why some people match up with certain balls and not others. I for one love the T-Road. I've used a couple of different ones in each of the last 6 weeks ( since we got them ). My reviews wont help much, since i dont bowl on house patterns very often, but i will say that it is my ball of choice for pro-ams

I'm attatching a link to a video that somebody shot in Buffalo. I'm throwing a T-Road during the video

Thanks all for your replies and insights. Jeff, you made the T-Road look good but it might be a little too angular for my style(who am I kidding, I have no style.) Will look at the Thunderstrucks more than likely.
