Title: passion versus epic battle
Post by: toomanytenpins on August 23, 2006, 12:55:56 PM
i am posting this because i just picked up a passion .My passion is polished and i just noticed that its oob is 500 grit. Since I already have the epic battle, I am wondering if the passion, in oob, is as strong as, or maybe stronger than the battle.
The passion is a good ball as it is. However It really is an overlap in my bag in its polished state. I am torn between making it dull again maybe to 12 or 1500 or leaving it polished and just alternating it with the other stuff. I got it for 80 bucks drilled and I thought that was a steal, now i just have to figure out what to do with it. I do need a step down from the battle, but i think polished its more of a drop than a step. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking the Epic Battle would be stronger only because it's particle. But I'm not sure.

this is where a good deal isnt a good deal. The passion polished is only 2 to 3 boards stronger than my power groove. If i can play one i can play the other, which is the basis for my ,I dont want to dull it up and have 2 heavy oil only balls ,but if i leave it like it is its just a matter of preference as to when i use it . The power groove has cemented itself in my bag thats a given. oh well its not the first ball I bought and really served no purpose and it probably wont be the last.

well I took the passion to its oob and it is stronger than the battle at oob. All things considered I guess one might say the balls are equall considering the passion is 5oo and the battle is 8.
I had the battle polished and its nowhere near as strong as the passion polished was. they are both great balls and I really dont see a need for having em both . I think that I will leave the passion at 500 and leave the battle with a light coat of polish . That will make my 1-2-3 passion, epic, epic battle.
I am sure there are those of you will disagree ,but thats how they roll out of my hand. The passion handles more oil ,has more backend, and carries just as well if not better than the battle.
