I have a Idol Pearl - is there room for both or is this overlap. From what I have seen on reviews, the P3 looks like it is more skid flip than the I/P. Or that it has a stronger back end than the Idol. I have the I/P drilled pin down, this works well for me. If I get the P3 how many have gone pin down?

My ball speed is around 14mph. I also have decent revs, probably rev dominant. Therefore many suggested I go pin down. My pro shop drilled it the same as my original Soniq, pin below middle finger.  The Soniq reaction is smooth as butter. My first ball out the bag during league. The Phaze 3 is not as smooth. Probably a good thing because I aready have that reaction with the Soniq. The Phaze 3 gets through the front and midlane very clean and then makes its move. Great ball to open the lanes with. I only have a few games on it so far. It will interesting to see how it rolls when the cover settles in.

I have not seen anyone throw anything with a Phase 3 yet.  There are a ton of them on the racks but no scores.  On a wall shot it looks like a trainwreck with the box surface.  On tougher shots it looks overly touchy.   Maybe I haven't seen the right person throw it on the right shot yet , but I have ZERO interest in it.

1500 Polished

I don't mean to stir crap but is it safe to say the opinion on this ball has changed from above?  By now people wouldn't admit it but quietly the tide was turning on the Timeless which haven't seen so far with this ball.  P3 is for real right?  Or is it just not matching up for a fair number of people?  No interest myself really but want to be on right side of the hype cycle lol.  Seems like Storm is selling a ton of them still so probably not pure hype at this point is my guess or maybe not being patient.

(edit:  new league starting tonight so may be able to answer my own question if see some on the lanes)

The P2 at box and the P3 at 1500 abralon no polish are a great 1-2 combo.....on sport shots for me. The core is very rolly and that’s great for me on Sport but on house it’s 7 pin city. P3 out of box was horrible.

FIGJAM? - I just shot 988 during a 4 game set on USBC White #2....including a 297 with it (I yanked the hell out of the last ball - total operator error).  The series as a whole isn't in honor score territory but I will take 247/game on a modified house shot everyday of the week.

I really like the Phaze 3 on blended shots as opposed to cliffed.  On cliffed shots it (like most polished balls with pearl in it) overreacts in the dry and skates in the puddle.  On shots with a lower ratio and a decent amount of volumn, the ball is money in my hands.

To answer the OP - I personally would not have both in my arsenal.  For me, they are both too similar and with my rev rate/speed, I would not see a big enough difference in total hook and ball motion. 

I see Phase 3's all over the place.  I bowl in 3 leagues with decent, competitive bowlers...... and I still have not seen ANYONE put up a score with one yet.  I know people have to be scoring with it someplace...but I haven't seen it.  It seems to be the type of ball where you go DOUBLE, BIG FOUR, DOUBLE, WASH OUT, STRIKE, 4-9, 10 pin, 9 pin ......

Wow that does sound like the Timeless.  Time will tell I guess (really doubt it will be that big of flop though).  Didn't see any last night at league but wasn't really looking and bowl on a desert so people using mostly weak stuff.

I have mine drilled pretty weakly pin down, 5 1/4 pin to pap, and it's really good, but I've had a lot of experience with both that cover and core, so no way I was going very strong.  I can see issues for people going pin up with the shine on it . . which because of the cult of Mo not taking what he said in the context he intended it, "pin down symmetrics only leave 10 pins," makes everyone go pin up.  So instead of the occasional ten, it's like BeerLeague said, it's all kinds of craziness.  This one is going to look best going pin down, and/or taking the shine off.  Cover is just too quick out of box for most people if you don't calm it down in one way or the other.
